Connectivity

Reliable connectivity is the backbone of any metering or IoT deployment. Emergent Metering's Connectivity collection provides the gateways, routers, and network hardware that link your meters and sensors to local networks, the internet, and cloud platforms, so data flows securely from the field to your dashboards and management systems. The collection features LoRaWAN gateways and industrial cellular routers from Milesight and Robustel, available in indoor, outdoor (IP67), and industrial-grade enclosures. With support for long-range wireless connectivity, 4G/5G cellular backhaul, Ethernet, and edge computing, these devices keep large sensor networks connected across buildings, campuses, and remote sites, even where wired infrastructure is limited.Use these components to build a resilient communications layer for energy monitoring, remote metering, and condition monitoring. Browse the products below to find the right gateway or router for your coverage area and network. Need help planning connectivity for your project? Contact our team for guidance.

Connectivity — FAQ

Common questions about this category.

What does a cellular bridge do?
A cellular bridge gives a metering panel its own internet connection over 4G / LTE so meter data can reach the platform without integrating with building IT or VPNs.
When should I use Ethernet vs. cellular?
Ethernet is preferred when a stable corporate network jack is available and IT will permit the connection. Cellular bridges are the default for fast multi-site rollouts and for tenant or remote spaces where IT access is not realistic.
Are routers and bridges configured before they ship?
Yes. Bridges and routers shipped for a project are pre-configured to publish into your platform tenant, so installers can power the panel and validate data without on-site configuration.
