Compressed Air & Nitrogen Meters — FAQ

Common questions about this category.

Why submeter compressed air?
Compressed air is one of the most expensive utilities in a plant. Submetering turns kWh of compressor load into measurable air demand at the use-point, which is how leak studies, ISO 50001 baselines, and capacity decisions get justified.
Inline or insertion flow meters — which should I use?
Inline thermal mass meters are best for smaller pipe sizes and the highest accuracy. Insertion meters are typically chosen on larger headers where cutting the pipe for an inline body is impractical.
Do these meters work on nitrogen or other gases?
Yes. Several of the thermal mass meters in this category are configured for nitrogen and other industrial gases in addition to compressed air. Specify the gas at order so the meter is calibrated correctly.
