AMR and AMI water metering, ultrasonic and positive-displacement meters, and pulse-output submeters for multifamily and campus tenant billing.

About Next Century

Next Century builds AMR and AMI water metering systems for multifamily and campus tenant billing — ultrasonic and positive-displacement meters, pulse and encoded submeters, and the wireless collection network that reads them. Its systems are designed around the realities of residential submetering: hundreds of small meters, inaccessible unit interiors, and monthly billing deadlines that cannot slip.

Ultrasonic meters have no moving parts, so they hold accuracy at the very low flow rates that dominate residential use — a running toilet or dripping fixture that a mechanical meter would miss entirely. Wireless AMR removes the need to enter occupied units to read meters, which is usually the single largest operating cost of a submetering program.

Emergent Metering deploys Next Century systems for multifamily water billing, campus housing cost recovery, and leak-detection programs where per-unit consumption data drives both revenue recovery and conservation.

Next Century ships LoRaWAN-native hardware. See LoRaWAN for submetering for how it fits into gateway, range, battery-life, and retrofit decisions.
